Spring Style Edit
by Laura Martinez
Spring has sprung, and I couldn’t be happier. Finally, it’s time to shed our sweaters and show a little skin (or a lot – you do you, girl). Spring is my favorite season since so many fun new trends come with it. I love nothing more than seeing what floral patterns are dominating and what bright new shade will be coloring my wardrobe. Plus, the days of carrying seven layers to ensure maximum warmth are over. Here, I’m bringing you five new trends to try this spring season!
1. Sheer Fabrics
Sheer, slightly see-through shirts have been on the fashion scene for a minute now, but typically in dark hues. The trend has evolved for spring, and you’ll start to see tons of lighter sheer fabrics. This trend is a bit less sexy than the dark hue, which makes it perfect for daytime looks. Try a sheer top with cut off shorts for the next darty on your calendar!
2. Bold Patterns
Go for the bold this season and pick patterns that make a statement. Patterns are a great choice for day or night and can easily be played up or down. If you’re wary of the trend, pair a bold top with your favorite pair of jeans. Want to go all out? Mix and match bold patterns for a more interesting look!
3. Fun Fannys
Fanny packs are BACK. But these aren’t your dad’s fanny packs that he wore around Disney World, they’re way cuter than that. This 90’s staple, like most 90’s staples, is having a total revival. From Forever21 to major designers, everyone has reimagined the fanny pack.
4. Festive Feathers
Take a page from Cher’s handbook and give feathers a try this season. They’re fun and flirty, just like you, and add a bit of flare to any outfit.
