Up Your Game: The Athleisure Report

by Laura Martinez

So maybe you want to up your athleisure game, but don’t want to wear a full Adidas tracksuit to class tomorrow. We’re at the point in the athleisure trend that subbing leggings instead of pants isn’t enough to stay on top of the trend. In this spring trend report, I’m bringing you all the latest in this trend so you can arrive in style (and comfort!) wherever you go this spring.

1.     Printed leggings

Printed leggings are about to be everywhere this spring, and you’ll love hunting for the most unique and eye-catching prints around town. Pair the leggings with any of your favorite workout tees, comfiest t-shirts, or simple graphic tees for an added edge. I’m obsessed with the marbled prints, as well as the geometric tie-dyes listed below, but keep an eye out for tie-dyes and floral prints too!

2.     Old School Logo Sweatshirts

You can throw these sweatshirts on with your most worn-in black leggings, or with a cool printed pair and look super chic either way. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself rolling out of bed and straight into your 8 A.M. still in one of these from the night before--they’re that comfy!

3.     Rose Gold Sneakers

Bright, clean, white sneakers had their moment last year, but this year I love the metallic sneaker trend--specifically rose gold sneakers. They add a lush element to any outfit, and immediately elevate leggings and a white t-shirt to a stand-out outfit. Plus, they won’t get dirty like your white sneakers (I know I can’t count the number of times I’ve tripped, smudged my pristine shoes, and cursed out as if the world’s ending)

Enjoy these three fabulous athleisure trends for spring, and no shame if none of them see that awful fluorescent light of the gym.
